Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan, Founder CEO @ Rediff.com

Ajit Balakrishnan, a man of indomitable spirit with an extraordinary ability of entrepreneurial risk-taking, plunged into web space and portal business, when the Internet services were barely launched in India. Ajit, having BSc degree in physics and after completing Masters in Business, Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, earlier launched advertising business Rediffusion, one of the most successful advertising agencies in India. Later, Ajit founded Rediff.com in 1996, an e-commerce and social media site and popular email service Rediffmail and created a multi-million dollar company. Balakrishnan is the chairman of Ministry of IT Committee on Internet Governance and Proliferation. He is also the chairman of ‘Research and Faculty Enhancement at the 7 IIMs', a committee formed by HRD ministry. He is honored with the chairmanship of the Board of Governors in his own MBA School, IIM Kolkata. He is also the former head of Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

Mr. Bhupesh Daheria's, CEO @ Aegis School of Business, Data Science and Telecommunication

With over two decades of exposures of innovation, telecom and education, Mr Bhupesh Daheria founded Aegis School of Business, Data Science & Telecommunication in 2002 with the support of Bharti Airtel, India's leading telecommunication firm. He is also founder of Data Science Congress, aimed to bring India at the centre of hub for skill, innovation and research in the field of Data Science. Daheria also spreaheads Aegis Skilling; Aegis Graham Bell Awards and mUniversity (mobile University). He is focusing on developing India’s best Data Science program at Aegis and setting up a Big Data Product Factory.

Dr. Diganta Mukherjee, Professor @ Indian Statistical Institute

Dr. Diganta is an eminent Economist and Mathematician. He is also technical advisor to MCX, RBI, SEBI, National Sample Survey Office, National Accounts Division (Central Statistical Office). His specialties include Welfare & Development Economics in general and multidimensional poverty in particular. He is active in the area of Finance, particularly mathematical models for pricing contracts and analysis and modeling of network data

Mr. Indranath Mukherjee, Head @ Strategic Analytics AXA XL, a division of AXA Gurgaon, Haryana

Indranath is an analytics practitioner with more than 18 years of industry experience ranging from hands-on modeling to P&L management. A domain expert in Insurance and sports analyticsIn his current role, he heads the Strategic Analytics team at AXA XL, India. His past employers include Deloitte Consulting, Accenture, EXL and Fractal Analytics. In 2018, Indranath was recognized as one of the top 50 minds in analytics in India by Analytics India Magazine.

Indranath studied Economics at St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta for his bachelor’s degree and then completed his M.A. and M.Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Dr. Prasenjit Majumder, Associate Professor @ Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAIICT)

Founding Secretary of Information Retrieval Society of India and co-ordinator of Forum for Information Retrieval Evaluation meeting (FIRE). He has contributed in Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing since last 15 years. He has published about 50 research papers and edited six volumes of Proceedings for Springer and ACM.

Mr. Rajeev Panikath, Chief Information Officer @ SBM Bank

Rajeev Panikath is heading technology at SBM Bank. He held various senior positions in the field of technology in many leading banks, including Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank mainly focusing in retail banking operations. He also worked in Wipro on integrated service delivery for BFSI sector. Before SBM Bank, Rajeev was CIO of Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd.

Ms. Ujjyaini Mitra, Analytics & Data Science Leader @ ZEE

Ujjyaini has more than a decade of experience in big data analytics and solved challenging business cases across industries such as Telecommunication, E-Commerce, Retail Banking and consumer goods companies. Ujjyaini started her career with McKinsey & Co. and worked and build advanced analytics team for Bharti Airtel and Flipkart. She is also mentoring students at various institutions and organizations like IIM Ahmedabad, IMT Ghaziabad, SPM, Data Science Foundation etc. where she shares her industry experience with them. Ujjyaini graduated from Chennai Mathematical Institute and did her Masters of Science in Quantitative Economics (MSQE) from Indian Statistical Institute.

Mr. Utpal Chakraborty, Head of Artificial Intelligence @ YES BANK

Utpal Chakraborty is an eminent Data Scientist and AI researcher having 21 years of industry experience, including working as an Principal Architect in L&T Infotech, IBM, Capgemini and other MNCs in his past assignments. Currently, Utpal is Head of Artificial Intelligence at YES BANK. Utpal is a well-known speaker and writer on Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Agile & Lean speaking at conferences around the world. His recent research on machine learning titled “Layered Approximation for Deep Neural Networks” has been appreciated in different conferences, institutions and universities. He has extensive management consulting and corporate leadership experience in various companies including Fortune 100. The amount of text, that demonstrates and captures business interest increased exponentially in recent past. Processing such huge volume of text and to understand the information content therein is a big ask. Understanding the crux of such texts that can boost the business process immensely, is need of the hour. Given the volume, its next to impossible to process them manually in a time critical scenario. Artificial Intelligence came into rescue under the umbrella of Natural language processing and understanding. This curtain raiser introductory workshop, targeting mid and top level decision makers from diverse field, will help to understand the potential, challenges and state of the art methods used in the area of business text processing with a few hands on case studies. The workshop will be a 150 minutes’ session including 2 breaks in between.
