With its singular framework and pervasive scope, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) is set to transform the privacy paradigm in India. However, as privacy has no prior holistic framework in an India-specific context, its implementation may pose considerable challenges; challenges which are manifesting in the delay in implementing the DPDP through issuance of rules and regulations.
This session will focus on the key facets of DPDP and its divergence from GDPR, as well as its integration with existing privacy frameworks and its potential role and impact on the Internal Audit function.
