26 June 2016  “14^th RUN against Drug Abuse” at India gate

26 June, On the International Day against Drug Abuse every year since 2003 the mass awareness event “RUN against Drug Abuse” is being held at India Gate.

On Sunday morning more than 4000 participants are gathering at India Gate in the morning for a noble cause to spread the message – “Think Health Not Drugs”.

This year’s focus is:  “Let’s Develop Communities without Drugs”.

           On 26 June, Sunday at 8:00 am Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India along with the MOS Shri Krishan Gujar & Shri Vijay Sampla ji  will take the pledge  with other dignitaries and 4000 participants

           The “RUN against Drug Abuse” Flag off will be done by the Ministers for the mass sensitization followed by a symbolic Slogan March with Police Bands.

This mass Awareness mega event is a joint collaboration and it is patronized by the Govt departments of three Ministries.

·         National Institute of Social Defense (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment)

, Govt of India

·         Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India

·         Directorate of Prohibition, Deptt of Women & Child Development, Govt of Delhi.

Health Fitness Trust is the coordinating NGO partner for 14 years since its inception.

·         This Anti Drug Campaign at India Gate is now in its 14^th year. Asian Marathon Gold Medalist Dr. Sunita Godara coordinating the event every year and mobilizing more than 4000 Runners.

This event has a great value for awareness on drug abuse prevention all over India and has attracted attention because of its all India reach through our media partners.

This mega event becomes colorful with the participation of various organizations from Delhi & NCR, Allahabad, Rohtak, Bulandshar, Ghaziabad, Noida, Patiala, Mujjaffernagar. Participants come from various Institutions, Deptts, Schools, colleges, Academies, NGO’s, Defense/Police forces (CRPF, BSF, ITBP, Indian Coast Guard, SSB, CISF), NCC cadets, scouts, Civil Defense, Martial art & from Print & Electronic media.

We have PSUs, Educational Institutes and many stake holders supporting the cause every year.

·         The main partner Airports Authority of India is supporting for the 2nd time with a great enthusiasm and with the large number of Delegates.
