Session 1: Machine Learning for QA Professionals by Kaushik Raghavan (Manager, Product testing at Resilo Labs. Project advisor @ IIT Madras.)

The software testing industry never sleeps and is always evolving. There have been tremendous improvements in test automation and continuous integration. According to the State of Testing 2019 report Machine Learning has been named as one of the new technologies or subjects in general that will be important to the testing world in 3 -5 years from now. Machine learning is being successfully applied now in all walks of life, so the question is, how will machine learning and artificial intelligence influence software testing? Will they actually enhance it?

Machine learning, which teaches systems to learn and apply that knowledge in the future, makes software testers come up with more accurate results than traditional testing ever could. Machine learning and predictive analytics go hand in hand in software testing and QA today. They are both necessary for an uninterrupted, shorter testing process that ultimately leads to better user experience.

In this talk, we will be discussing the following topics.

Predict how many bugs will come in the next build?

Will there be a build for testing tomorrow?

Can I automatically classify the bugs?

Can ML automatically map test cases to requirements?

Can ML Generate quality test data for testing?

Can ML Generate test cases from requirements?

About the Speaker:

Over the years Kaushik has developed rich expertise across popular test automation tools and acquired the necessary skills to build advanced test automation frameworks. As an APM specialist Kaushik has lead performance testing teams by adopting the best approach towards performance testing and ensure that the performance testing methods implemented meet the client's business needs. He has extensive experience in performance testing web-based applications, mobile-based applications with various load levels. Kaushik has conducted extensive product research on performance testing tools and developed code snippets for performance monitoring various technology stacks. Currently associated with IIT madras where he is involved in building an open-source predictive analytics stack for various industries. He is responsible for bench-marking (functional and performance) various technology components used in our technology stack. He is currently doing his PhD (Data Analytics) at IIITD&M.
