WAIA The Calcutta Maha Marathon Run for a Cause (5th Edition)

Rules , Regulations & some basic information

• Categories : Open to all age & gender for 14K & 7K, Run for Fun (Children 6-14yrs), Run for Blind, Paralympics, Sr Citizen. Children below 18yrs will run under Guardian’s supervision.
• Gathering, Starting & end point will be St Thomas School Ground, Kolkata 700023. Marathon will start at 6:30AM (approx)on 19.02.23. Reporting time starts at 4.30am on run day and ends at 6.00am .
• Before start of run there will be a warm up session (zumba) and followed by National anthem.
• Distribution of T Shirt and Bibs: On Run day from 4.30am. For only those registering through Town script till 15.2.23 one day prior distribution shall be open at following points : (1) Decathlon, Salt Lake Store on 18.2.23 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm & (2) St Thomas School ground from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
• Those collecting BIBs and T Shirt from Decathlon Store will also get a Decathlon Discount Coupon. Others may avail the discount coupon of decathlon by registering themselves with decathlon app on run day at decathlon kiosk at ground.
• Every Participant shall collect T Shirt, Bibs, Wrist Band from the designated distribution counters. It is requested not to detach the Bibs before completion of run and wrist band until the completion of the entire event.
• Please show your registration documents at distribution counters which may include hard or soft copies of Town script ticket, watsapp registration messege, physical form / ticket to get the deliverables.
• This shall be a non timed run and non chipped BIBs will be issued to the runners. Runners will collect bibs as per their choice (already mentioned) for 14K / 7K. This is a Charitable event organized to create awareness where participants shall run for a social cause. It can be their cause also and they can promote their cause as well in a peaceful manner. This event should not be taken as a competition or a road race.
• Running for Children (Run for Fun), Blind Run, Paralympic Runs will take place inside of St Thomas Ground itself. Sr Citizen are requested to run for 7K preferably (Winners from Sr Citizen category will be from 7K).
• Registration fee collected is non refundable and tickets are transferable . Your contribution shall go for supporting & sustaining our year long social activities. Under unavoidable circumstances if the event has to be cancelled then only the registration fee shall be refunded.
• Please run only if you are physically fit. If during the run, someone falls sick then immediately contact our medical team / ambulance on the route.
• All Participants must follow & abide by all rules & regulations framed by the organizers for fare run. Kindly notice & follow the diversion (route) signals I traffic signs while on run. Do not throw water packets/ bottles or other garbage on road while running. Please Use garbage bins. Do not push or hurt other participants during the run. Any foul play will be severely dealt with &the candidature may also be cancelled.
• Please co operate with the management team and be patience while on queue to collect your T Shirt, Bibs, food packets etc. The run will be monitored by professional observers and volunteers. Observer’s decision in all cases shall be final.
• Runners will be provided with Food Packets / Refreshment after run and shall also get medal / certificate and some goodies / consumables from our sponsors. Water bottles / packets / glucose / ORS will be available throughout the route and on spot as well. If needed please ask for the same at Food court (spot) or Water points (route).
• Prize Categorization : Based on fastest runners in all categories. 1st, 2nd, 3rd of both 14K & 7K (male and female separately) will be awarded with prize money @ Rs 4000/-, Rs 3000/- Rs 1500/- & Rs 3000/-, Rs 2000/-, Rs 1000/- respectively. Felicitation will be done with Gift hampers for 1st, 2nd & 3rd of all other categories. Trophies to winners of all categories and rest others will be felicitated with medals / Certificate.
• There will be facility of Car parking at St Thomas Boy’s School Roadways. There will be changing enclosures & cloak room. Keeping of items at clock room shall be at own risk. Please don't carry any valuable things. Management will not be responsible in any way for theft or loss of things. For those coming from distant locations– Fooding / Lodging at own arrangement.
