Colours of Glory Foundation is a non-profit organization championed by armed forces
veterans to promote India’s military heritage. Victory Marathon is an annual event the
Foundation hosts every December to commemorate India’s historic military victory in
December 1971.
The marathon will follow a route from Olcott School to Aavin Roundabout, Adyar via
Elliot’s Beach (Cozee Corner) and back, along some of the coolest avenues of Chennai,
and is organized in four categories of races.
The principal category of 10 KM, named ‘Victory March’, will involve two rounds of the course.
The next ‘Advance to Glory’ of 7 KM will skip Elliot’s Beach and do two stretches of Olcott School to Aavin Roundabout and back.
The third category ‘Assault’ of 3.5 KM will do a single stretch from Olcott School to
Aavin Roundabout and back, and the fourth ‘Recce’ will be from Olcott School to Cozee
Corner and back. Minimum Age Limit: Victory March – 15 years, Advance to Glory – 12
years, Assault – 9 years & Recce – 6 years.
Top 3 runners in all four categories will be awarded trophies, while all participants will receive Finisher Medals and Certificates. Top 3 male and female runners of Victory March (10 KM) will be given cash awards@ Winner:Rs. 10,000.00, 1 st Runner-up: Rs.7,000.00 and 2 nd Runner-up: Rs. 5000.00. T-Shirt, bib,breakfast and drinking water will be provided for all participants.
The participants to collect their T-shirts and bibs from the Marshalling Point (Olcott Memorial HS School, Besant
Nagar, Chennai 600 090) between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, 14 December, and assemble at the same point at 5 a.m. on 15 December for the marathon.
Registration Fee for all 4 categories: Rs.900/- (Concessional rates - College Students / Officer Cadets: Rs.700/-, NCC Cadets / Armed Forces Recruits: Rs.600/-, School Students: Rs.500/-). All availing concessional rates to upload ID proof for status. No refund is admissible under any circumstances. In case of the event being called off on 15 December due to rain, it will be held on another suitable day within a month or month and a half.
