Velas Turtle Festival

What was the concept of turtle festival?

It's about witnessing the birth of young turtles that hatch from their eggs and slowly crawl into the ocean to start the journey of their life. This festival is also called Olive Ridley Turtle Festival is organized by local villagers. They do so in coordination with an NGO called Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra.

Day 1:Departure from Pune/Mumbai

Pune:

• 8:00 am: Pickup from BMCC College Fc road
• 8.30 am: Pickup from Xion Mall Hinjewadi

Day 1:Departure from Pune | Harihareshwar visit | Campsite check-in

• 8.00 am: Depart from Pune to Harihareshwar post breakfast
• 1.00 pm: Reach Harihareshwar and explore the temple
• 2.00 pm: Lunch on the way and depart to Velas via ferry
• 4.00 pm: Play sometime on the beach enjoy some group games check into your camps
• 6.00 pm: Experience the first evening hatching session followed by a magical sunset on the beach
• 8.00 pm: Have your dinner followed by some group sessions
• 10.00 pm: Rest for the day

Day 2:Bankot fort | Hatching session two | Velas to Pune

• 5.00 am: Wakeup call as we head to the beach for the second hatching session
• 6.00 am: Enjoy the hatching session and later come back to the camp for breakfast
• We visit Bankot fort followed by lunch on the way
• 2.00 pm: Explore the bankot fort and leave for Pune
• 11.00 pm: Reach Pune and Mumbai with loads of memories

(2D/1N: Without Stay)

Day 1:

• 8.00 pm: Pickup from BMCC College Fc road
• 8.40 pm:Pickup from Xion Mall Hinjewadi

Day 2:

• 4.00 am: Reach Velas in the morning and lay down on the beach
• 6.00 am: We watch the turtle hatching activity conducted by the Nisarg Premi organization
• 8.00 am: Play sometime on the beach enjoy some group games
• 10.00 am: Enjoy your breakfast and later head to Bankot fort
• 1.00 pm:Have lunch and leave for harihareshwar via jetty boat from veshvi
• 2.00 pm: Explore the temple and start your return journey back to Pune
• 11.00 pm:Reach Pune with loads of memories

Things to carry:

• ID proof
• Proper face mask or shield
• Sanitizer
• Good grip shoes.
• Torch with extra batteries.
• Extra Pair of clothes.
• Water bottles 2-3 liters.
• Ready to eat food, like plum cakes, chocolate bar, some snacks & biscuits, etc.
• Electoral or Glucon D powder.
• Personal First aid and Personal Medicine
• Sun protection cap, goggles.
• Normal bedsheet or blanket to sleep inside the tent or room.
• Cameras, glares etc. can be carried on your own risk.

COVID Guidelines :

• Mask and maintaining social distance with others are mandatory throughout the trip.
• Buses will be fully sanitized before use.
• Carrying your own sanitizers, gloves, face shield and mask is compulsory.
• Food will be freshly cooked and packed as per WHO guidelines.

Trekhievers Policies:

• Seats will be reserved only after full payment.
• Fees paid are non-refundable but transferable on the same event.
• The complete schedule of the trek will be given later to registered participants
• Organizers have all the right to modify or change the schedule in case
• Organizers hold the right to cancel any event and refund with prior notice.
• We strictly follow a no alcohol, no drugs, and no litter policy.

Cancellation Policy:

• 100% amount to be paid in advance to book the trip.
• If the booking is canceled 10 days or before the event date then 50% of the booking amount will be refunded.
• No refund if canceled 9 days before the event.
• No show = No refund.
