“Understanding Gender Justice at Home and the Workplace” with
Uttara Babbar, Advocate at Supreme Court of India
Gender justice is a human right, and every woman and girl is entitled to live in dignity and in freedom, without any fear.
In this session, Advocate Uttara Babbar will help us understand what Gender Justice is and why we need to talk about it. She will speak about how Gender Justice affects us at home and at work. And, how do we achieve Gender Justice.
Uttara Babbar obtained her BA LLB from the National Law School University, Bangalore, in 2002. She worked as a law clerk to Hon'ble Justice Ruma Pal, Judge of the Supreme Court of India. She obtained her LL(M) from Columbia University in New York City in 2005.
After returning to India she joined the chambers of Senior Advocate Sh. K.K. Venugopal. Since 2009 she has her own private law practice and is an Advocate-on-Record in the Supreme Court of India. She has a keen interest in comparative constitutional law and legal theory.
