Tracing Park Street's heritage

On this tour we walk down the most exciting and happening street of Calcutta. Park Street! The presently named Mother Teresa Sarani or simply Park street to old timers is usually referred to as the entertainment destination of Calcutta. Especially in this season. Much before we had glitzy soulless stone and glass edifices called Malls, this was where one came to mend a broken heart over a drink, celebrate a birthday with friends or an anniversary. For many it still is the same. And even before this the street was rather important for something completely opposite to what we associate it with today! While walking down the road, we realize it’s not just entertainment or recreation this road is famous for but also for housing some of the most important landmarks of Calcutta heritage. We would, as part of this short walking tour, experience the colors, sights and sounds of an era gone by.
