To rappel the Konkankada at least once in a life time is a dream of almost every adventure freak in Sahyadris. It is the most thrilling and spellbound activity offered in the Sahyadri range. Rappelling will be conducted in 2 stages to complete .

About the place – 

Harishchandragad - 

Harishchandragad is a hill fort in the Ahmednagar district of India. Its history is linked with that of Malshej Ghat, kothale village and it has played a major role in guarding and controlling the surrounding region.

 

Kokankada -

This cliff faces west and looks down upon the Konkan. It provides views of the surrounding region. The cliff has an overhang but has been climbed many times. Sometimes a circular rainbow (the Brocken spectre phenomenon) can be seen from this point. It can be seen only when there is a bit of mist in the valley, and the sun is right behind the person facing the valley. One phenomenon that can be observed at this place is the vertical cloud burst, in which the clouds nearing the cliff get sucked into the pit fall area below and are thrown vertically into the sky reaching more than 50 feet (15 m), creating the impression of a wall that is rising straight from the edge of the cliff without entering the landmass area.

 

Attractions: 

1800ft rappelling in 2 stages.

Arrival: 10:00 p.m. Mira Road (Event Night)

Previous Night

09:00 p.m. – Departure from Mira Road 

 

LATECOMERS will have to make their own travel arrangements to meet us on the way or to the destination. 

 

10:15 p.m. – Pickup from Thane Majiwada Junction 

10:45 p.m. – Pickup from Kalyan Naka 

 

Event Day

05:00 a.m. – Reach Pachnai (Base village).

05:30 a.m. – Trek starts post Introduction & Instructions Round

07:00 a.m. – Reach Kokankada.

Breakfast

07:30 a.m. – Activity starts. 

01:00 p.m. – Lunch. (For people who are done with the activity, Lunch will be served at the base of Kokankada. Rest of the participants will have their lunch at the top.)

04:00 p.m. – Trek towards Belpada Village.

06:00 p.m. – Return Journey to Mumbai . 

08:00 p.m. – Dinner on the way back at a Dhaba.

10:00 p.m. – Reach Mumbai .
