Syncretic System is a project by Otto de Jong, drummer from Utrecht, The Netherlands and Imran Khan, tabla player from New Delhi, India. They both share a love for both traditional rhythms as well as contemporary grooves and innovations, on top of that they both strongly believe that music unites. And so they decided to blend their artistic backgrounds into a new innovative project.
Their performances include jugalbandis based on rhythms and compositions from the Delhi Gharana as well as free improvisations and their own interpretations of rhythms from across the globe. For their concerts they work with several guest musicians, depending on the places they perform. This exiting approach will make every performance a unique experience on its own.
For the shows at Depot48 they teamed up with local guitar maestro Vikramaditya Negi who has been showcasing his talent both in India and far abroad.
