Like many secrets along the spiritual path, the potency of the Himalayas can only be comprehended through direct experience. There are no words to capture the subtleties and nuances of what one experiences in the presence of these mountains. Many spiritual aspirants, particularly yogis and sadhus come to the Himalayas for sadhana. Sadhana is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘spiritual practice’ or ‘a discipline undertaken with devotion in pursuit of a spiritual goal’.

This program could be an intense experience, especially when you take part in deep meditation sessions, yoga, trekking to the tops of the mountains, satsangs/discourse, cleanse the body-mind with sattvic meals and embrace the spiritual power emanating from age-old sacred temples and sacred Himalayan spaces. We would meander through some of the remotest Himalayan village communities within the region, soaking in the magical surroundings, witnessing and feeling the exuberance of this mysterious land.

The Himalayas are not only the world’s most extraordinary mountain ranges, but they are also home to hundreds of peaks which are considered to be holy and divinely charged. Prana, or ‘life force energy’, flourishes in the Himalayas. This abundance of life energy is an easily discoverable secret of the Himalayas, felt by merely being in their presence.
