JITO Run To Cure Marathon 3rd Edition

JITO Mumbai Ghatkopar Chapter presents "Run To Cure" 3rd Edition on 23rd Feb 2020, Awareness for Dialysis.

Jito Ghatkopar organising marathon RUN TO CURE 3rd Edition ( awareness for dialysis ). The idea and agenda for this Marathon is to have maximum participation and awareness towards Dialysis & Raise the funds towards dialysis center. Run To Cure Awareness For Dialysis is organising a Marathon Event on 23 Feb, 2020. Event starts from 06.00 am onwards.

About JITO: 

In India today, the cost of Kidney Dialysis is prohibitively high and beyond the reach of 90% of kidney patients. JITO’s primary moto is “Seva”. JITO Mumbai Ghatkopar Chapter put this vision into reality by creating a world-class, life-saving Kidney Hemo -Dialysis Center at Rajawadi Hospital in Sept 2013 on Charitable basis.

In Sept 2013, the Center was set up with generous donation by leading personalities of Jain Community and a total of 6 hi-tech Dialysis Machines were installed at the cost of Rs. 75 Lakhs. Mr. Sunil Prabhu ji, then Mayor of Mumbai, inaugurated the Dialysis Center and since then over 22,000 dialysis have been successfully performed bringing smiles on the face of many. The Center has been professionally managed by trained medical personnel of Apex Kidney Care Pvt Ltd having years of experience in caring for kidney patients.

While regular dialysis costs Rs. 900 per sitting, JITO Mumbai Ghatkopar Chapter has conducted over 22,000 dialysis at a very affordable rate of Rs. 200 for non-Jain patients and absolutely Free of Charge for Jain patients. Annually there are 6,000 dialysis which are undertaken per annum. The idea & objective is to keep it running as long as it can.

ACTIVE SUPPORT in terms of registration & participation in the 3rd Run2Cure Marathon, A JITO Ghatkopar initiative for subsidising dialysis costs for the needy at Rajawadi municipal hospital, Ghatkopar East. 

Why a JITO Ghatkopar Dialysis Centre –

- JITO’s (Jain International Trade Organisation) one of the primary Moto is “Seva”. JITO Ghatkopar has aimed to take up initiatives that directly impact life and are open to all in need. 

For the same, JITO Ghatkopar Chapter has been operating a state-of-the-art dialysis center located at Rajawadi Hospital since 2013. Trying to provide good care & treatment at minimal costs. 

More than 40,000 patients have already been benefited by our centre and numbers are increasing every day. While increasing need for dialysis is not something to be happy about, but the fact remains, it is a growing need which can become a burden financially on top of the physical & emotional issues that it brings to the patient and his / her family or close ones. 

The cost per dialysis to the patient is approximately (Rs.800 – 1500) and more at regular centres, which becomes a burden for a lot of families that require to avail this treatment on a regular basis. 

To counter this financial burden JITO Ghatkopar aims to provide state of the art treatment worth about (Rs. 800-1500)at a nominal cost of Rs. 200 per dialysis, the balance amount being supported by JITO Ghatkopar Chapter by its donations and collections. 

To make this sustainable long term and to spread the preventive awareness of Dialysis and it’s implications, JITO Ghatkopar Chapter came up with an idea of Ghatkopar Marathon for making every individual part of this noble cause, directly impacting lives of people around them. We have been successfully conducting the R2C Ghatkopar Marathon for 2 years now and are back with 3rd Edition on proposed on 23rd February 2020 in Ghatkopar. 

Jolly Gymkhana committee members have always supported JITO especially for this noble cause. This year as well, we would request Jolly Gymkhana to become a “Supporting Organization” by circulating the information about this Marathon and the Dialysis Centre to its members thereby increasing the awareness and participation in the RUN. 

All amount collected by way of donation, sponsorship and from runner registration is spent towards subsidising cost of the centre. 

Some Numbers -

1st Edition of run2cure in 2018 saw a turnout of over 2800 runners and support of over 10 social organizations. 

2nd Edition saw a turnout from all over Mumbai, with participation of up to 4,000. With over 15 social organisations taking part in the run with their messages & causes. 

For 3rd edition, (this year) our target is a minimum of 6500 Runners and an active support in participation from all prominent social organisations like yourself, that are active in noteworthy areas for societal benefit.

5Kms Run for Both Male and Female:

Rs. 3000 for the 1st Place

Rs. 2000 for the 2nd Place

10Kms Run for Both Male and Female:

Rs. 3000 for the 1st Place

Rs. 2000 for the 2nd Place

Overall 10Kms Run for Both Male and Female:

Rs. 7500 for the 1st Place

Rs. 5000 for the 2nd Place

Rs. 2500 for the 3rd Place
