The Shooting Stars Show - 3th Jan 2019 to 4th Jan 2019

 

The Quadrantids are usually active between the end of December and the first week of January, and peak around January 3-4. Unlike other meteor showers that tend to stay at their peak for about two days, the peak period of the Quadrantids only lasts a few hours.

 

Our Panchgani campsite is situated on the hill station which offers excellent dark skies with minimal light and air pollution. It is one of the best places for these activities at this event:

1. Meteor shower observation with un-aided eye or naked eye

2. Observe planets, moon and night sky objects through GPS operated telescope

3. Guided star-gazing to understand constellations, mythologies of constellations

Schedule:

Reporting time: 05:00 pm on 3th Jan 2019

3rd Jan 2019-

05:00 pm to 06:00 pm - Check in at Camp Panchgani

06:00 pm to 06:30 pm - Evening Snacks

06:30 pm to 08:00 pm - Rest & prepare for a long night ahead

09:00 pm to 10:00 pm - Dinner

10:00 pm to 11:00 pm - Observatory Tour, Registration

1100 pm to 12:00 am -Star gazing

12:00 am to 01:00 am - Chai, Campfire & Music

01:28 am to 04:43 am - Meteor Shower Observation

04:45 am -END OF PROGRAM. Go to bed amazed

0800 am - Wake up

0900-1000 am - Breakfast

1000 am - Departure & bye bye

Cost:

INR 3,600 per head (Stay in Alpine Tents ) for participants above 5 years of age.

Price Includes:

• Accommodation in Alpine Tents equipped with mattresses, pillows and blankets

• Meteor Shower Event ticket

• Meals (Evening snacks and Chai, Dinner and Day 2 breakfast)

• Space Observatory Tour, Stargazing, Telescope Observation

Terms and conditions:

1. Star gazing, telescope observations and meteor shower observation directly depends upon the weather condition, moon phase at the time of your visit. Management will not be held responsible for bad weather conditions.

2. Please carry warm full clothes, wind-cheaters, woollen caps and gloves, mosquito repellents, torch (preferably with red light).

3. Wearing shoes is compulsory for the entire duration of event
