Who are these beautiful Fireflies?
Fireflies or lightning bugs make light within their bodies. This process is called
bioluminescence and is shared by many other organisms, mostly sea-living or marine
organisms. Fireflies light up to attract a mate. To do this, the fireflies contain specialized
cells in their abdomen that helps to create light.
About Harishchandragad Fort
Harishchandragad Trek : is a hill fort in the Ahmednagar District of India.
The fort is quite ancient. Remnants of Microlithic man have been discovered here. The
various Puranas (ancient scriptures) like Matsyapurana, Agnipurana and
Skandapurana include many references about Harishchandragad. Its origin is said to have
been in the 6th century, during the rule of Kalachuri dynasty.
Kokankada, This cliff faces west and looks down upon the Konkan. It provides a scenic
view of the surrounding region and the setting sun. The cliff has an overhang, but has been
climbed many times. Sometimes a circular rainbow (Brocken Spectre phenomenon) can be
seen from this point. It can be seen only when there is a bit of mist in the valley, and the
sun is right behind the person facing the valley.
Trekking till Harischandragad and camping at this historical location is indeed an
experience worth remembering.

7:30 PM :- Leave towards Base Village in Private Bus
2:00 AM :- Reach base Village and Get Fresh (Enroute Dinner veg-nonveg)
3:00 AM :- Start Trek Towards Harishchandragad
5:00 AM :- Reach Kokankada
8:00 AM :- Decend Fort
10:00 AM :- Reach Base Village and Return Journey to Mumbai
12:00 PM :- Complimentary Snacks
02:00 PM : Reach MumbaI

Sighting of pre Monsoon Cloud and fireflies is a natural phenomenon which
depends on weather conditions. We can hope to have a beautiful experiance of
exploring nature in their presence.
1)Please Inform about your medical issue in advance.
2) Participants will be responsible for their own belongings and health issues.
3) Avoid wearing gold or other costly jewellery.
4) Smoking and Drinking are strictly prohibited.
Organisers are not going to tolerate such acts.
5) Keep in mind we are going for Trek not for trip, so maintain discipline and follow
leader’s instructions.
6) Trek leaders decision will be final and binding.
