This is a one-day BLK Rules Workshop to be held on 5th December 2025 to finalise the rules and operational framework of 'Skills Challenge for Basketball League Kerala (BLK)', which consists of 4 skill routines to be performed by Boys and Girls in 2 categories, viz., Under 14 years of age (U14) and Under 18 years of age (U18). Their performance will be evaluated by a panel of judges and marks awarded. Based on the score obtained, a select no. of participants will be shortlisted for 'Match Trials' to be carried out on a date to be announced soon.
Players who perform well in the 'Match Trials' will get a chance to be inducted into 6 teams that are to participate in the Junior League of Basketball League Kerala (BLK).
Basketball League Kerala (BLK) is owned and operated by Kochi-based Starting Five Sports Management Pvt. Ltd. and Pune-based ABCFF League Pvt. Ltd., in association with Kerala Basketball Association (KBA). This is a first-of-its-kind League for boys and girls designed as the foundational structure for the proposed men’s and women’s Professional Basketball Leagues in Kerala. BLK Junior League Season-1 is open exclusively to Kerala-based players and the formal player registration opens on December 10, 2025.
It is mandatory for all players interested in being part of the BLK Junior League Season-1 to register for the Skills Challenge which consists of ‘One Minute to Hoop’ (OMH) routines, a specially designed scouting platform for assessing dribbling, passing, shooting and defending skills. Details of the registration process will be announced soon.
Kerala Basketball Association and its 14 district associations will extend their full technical support towards finalising the BLK rules and regulations, standardising the One Minute to Hoop Skill Challenge and appointing technical officials for skill tests, trials and match operations.
