Gorakhgad Info: One day trek to Gorakhgad offers breathtaking views of valley & Machchindragad. One can reach to caves by trekking after one & half hour. There are 14 water cisterns on the fort but few near the cave can be used for drinking purpose. Cave can accommodate around 70 people comfortably. We also arrange cave stay and night trek to gorakhgad. Fort name is derived from saint Gorakhnath who is said to have performed penance in the cave. Steps to reach top of the pinnacle are not easily visible. One has to walk on slight edge after caves and few water cisterns until one can see huge boulder lying on the edge. On top of the fort there is small Mahadeo temple with Nandi. Gorakhgad top offers commanding view of surrounding. Pinnacle of Gorakhgad was used be a watch tower to keep an eye on region ranging from Siddhagad, Machchindragad up to Ahupe Ghat. Jeevdhan is also visible from the top of Gorakhgad fort.

 

Itinerary -

07:00 am: Meeting point @ Kalyan station and Start our journey towards the base village

09:30 am: Reach base village Dehri and have breakfast

10:00 am: Start trek from base to Gorakhgad caves

12:30 pm: Reach at caves and keep your bags in caves. Explore the fort

01:00 pm: Start descending & reach to Dehri 

02:30 pm: Have lunch at Dehri village and start return journey towards Kalyan station

 

 

Cost: INR 800 + 5% GST

Cancellation and Refund applicable on the tour cost:

● If cancellation done prior to 15 days of outing 75% will be refunded.
● If done prior to 10 days of outing 50% will be refunded.
● After that no refund will be provided.

Things to carry:-

● At least 3 ltrs of drinking water
● Photo ID card
● Extra cloths and raincoat
● Personal medicine
● Torch with extra batteries

Note: Our stay is in caves, so carry sleeping bag / mat / chaddar.

 

Rules:

● In mountains & jungles, smoking attracts honeybees and one has to face dangerous "honeybee attack" where survival of the person is difficult, hence smoking is strictly prohibited.
● Drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited.
● Leader's decision will be final and binding.
● Small Steps Adventures reserves all the right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without prior notice.
● Telephonic confirmation for booking is mandatory; if unable to contact us then send a text message and we will call you back.
● Please do not carry handbags or Jholas or Sling bags on treks.
● Please do not carry or wear any valuables, ornaments, jewelry, etc. If carried, then we do not take any liability for the same.
