February 28 is celebrated as National Science Day in India. On this day in 1928, the famous Indian Scientist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman discovered a phenomenon of scattering of photons which was later became known as ‘Raman Effect.’
In 1930, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman got Nobel Prize for this magnificent discovery.
Hence National Science Day is celebrated in India on Feb 28 each year to remember the contribution of this great scientist and the power of science.
