Machame route

6 days Machame trek + 2 Overnights Hotels

ITINERARY:

01 August : Arrival, Meet at the airport and drive to Moshi for overnight stay.

02 August: Trekking from Machaame Gate to Machame Camp Accommodation: Machame Camp

Meal Plan: Full Board.

03 August: Trekking from Machame Camp to Shira 2 Camp Accommodation: Shira 2 camp.

Meal Plan: Full Board.

04 August: Trekking from Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower Accommodation: Barranco camp.

Meal Plan: Full Board.

05 August: Trekking from Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp Accommodation: Barafu camp.

Meal Plan: Full Board.

06 August : Trekking from Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak then trek down to Mweka Camp Accommodation: Mweka camp.

07 August: Trekking from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, drive to Moshi. Accommodation: Keys Hotel Moshi

 08 August: Drive on time to airport for a flight back home. Accommodation: None

Cost Includes

• All park entry, camping and rescue fees.

• All meals, boiled and filtered drinking water while on the mountain.

• Camping equipment including mountaineering, mess and sleeping tents (Mountain Hardware, North Face, Marmot), table and chairs and sleeping mattresses.

• Oxygen Cylinder - only for emergency.

• Cook and porters.

• Transport to/from national park gates.

• First aid kit and pulse oximeter.

• 3 delicious meals daily.

• 2 nights Hotel in Moshi town.

• Breakfast included at the hotel.

Cost Not Includes:

• Prices do not include sleeping bags, gaiters, tip to staff, soda/alcohol',

• health insurance, visa fees, medical, hospitalization, evacuation and any related expenses,

• International airfare, laundry, and meals in Moshi.

• Tip to staff in mandatory.

Extra budget for Tips

It is customary in Tanzania to tip the staffs that make the safari or trek so unforgettable. As a general rule of tipping, the below should be used as a guideline:

• Climbing Heard Guide: $15 - $20 USD per day (per group)

• Climbing Assistant Guide: $12 - $15 USD per day (per group)

• Climbing Cook: $10 - $15 USD per day (per group)

• Porters: $7 - $8 USD per day (per porter per group)
