One day Monsoon Trek to Kothaligad (Peth)

About:

Kothaligad is more commonly known as the fort of Peth because the village of Peth is situated at its base. The pinnacle of the Peth can be seen from the village. This pinnacle is carved from inside forming a staircase reaching the top. There is a small temple and large cave at the base and a chimney like tunnel to the top of the fort. There is a tank of water at some distance from the cave and another one at the top of the fort. The stone is a single black expanse reaching till the Peth village standing on the fertile soil with abundant natural resources for water and farming.

Tentative Itinerary:

Board the Karjat fast local leaving from CST @ 06:10am

Participants are requested to board the same train from their preferred station.

*Please purchase return tickets to Karjat.

The train reaches

Dadar @ 06:24am

Thane @ 06.50am

Kalyan @ 07:10am

Karjat station @08:00am

Participants to report @Karjat station no later than 08:15am

We will proceed to the base village by Local Transport (25 KM from Karjat Station)

9.15am : Reach Base Village,Breakfast at base village.

10.00am: Start the trek

11:00am: Reach Pethechi wadi, spend some time on plateau; continue the trek.

12:30pm: Reach on the top, lunch, fort exploration

02:00pm: Start descending

05:30pm: Reach Base Village, enjoy evening tea

07:00pm: Reach back to Karjat station

Board the train to CST

Trek Expense: Rs 500/- (Non- Refundable)
