About Kalsubai Fort:

Mt. Kalsubai at 1646 meters is the highest peak in Maharashtra. The mountain stands among the most rugged of the terrain that the Sahyadris have to offer. The view from the top is definitely breath taking. The peak has a symbolic temple of the deity Kalsubai.

The mountain being the tallest in Maharashtra, has been made easily trek-able by the locals. Be prepared to get you shoes dirty however due to the muddy and slippery terrain.

Tentative itinerary:

Day1: 22nd July, 2017

23:00pm: Leave from Mumbai

Day 2: 23rd July, 2017

05:00am: Reach base village Bari

06:00am: Start ascend to kalsubai after breakfast

10:30am: Reach on the top of the highest peak & explore

11:30am: have lunch on the top

12:00pm: Start descending

15:00pm: Reach base village

15:30pm: Leave for Mumbai

21:00pm: Reach Mumbai

What to Wear

Footwear: Good Trekking / Sports Shoes. Avoid running shoes and chappals. You can also carry an extra pair of kitto’s in your haversack.

Clothing: Full sleeves tee shirt and full trek pants. You can also carry an extra pair of clothes for change.

Bag: Carry one lightweight haversack to pack all your belongings. Wrap all your belongings in a plastic bag and double wrap your valuables.

What to Avoid

– Tight and restrictive clothing

– Footwear with heels

– Costly jewellery and electronic items

– Sling bag or Jhollas

– Everyone has to follow instructions of the Trek leaders & Instructors.
