This introductory level workshop is meant for those who have a strong interest in poetry. Participants will learn how to build on the foundation of existing poems, phrases and lines to create a new poem. The premise is the idea of the palimpsest – an overlay of one manuscript over the other and erasures in order to create fresh material. The session will consist of a presentation, close readings of poems, the introduction of a writing exercise and writing time. Participants will be encouraged to share their work and will receive feedback both from me as well as from peers.
This will be an online workshop and I will use either zoom or google meet.
Date: 5th April 2025
