Lahaul and Spiti Bike Expedition

 

Spiti Valley known as an “Unknown World” The definition of word SPITI means middle land i.e. land between Tibet and India. It is located in trans Himalayan belt of Himachal Pradesh. This area has lots to explore and hold treasures and secrets of ancient civilization, Tibetan Monastic traditions.

 

Wanderers and explorers always have fascination for this place due to its isolated location, rich cultural heritage and spiritual prosperity. The beauty of this location is as beautiful as Ladakh and its worth visit Destination. Very few people knows about it and hence its a perfect destination for any hardcore traveller who are interested in less travelled destinations only.

ITINERARY

 

Day-01 : 05th August’16 : MUMBAI – CHANDIGARH
Meet at Bandra Station and start journey towards Pashchim Express (11:00 am)

 

Day-02 :  CHANDIGARH
Arrival at Chandigarh Station and proceed towards Hotel. Evening collect bikes from Cargo. Late evening introduction and instruction session (briefing about expedition, do’s and don’ts, route etc.) Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day-03 :  CHANDIGARH – NARKANDA (179 Kma – 05 Hrs)
Early morning start riding towards Narkanda via roopad, Shimla. Evening leisure time at Narkanda. Overnight at Hotel

 

Day-04 :  NARKANDA – SANGLA (160 Kms / 5 hrs)
After breakfast start riding towards Sangla. Today we are entering in to Kinnaur region of Himachal Pradesh. Enjoy breathtaking views of Sutlej River and deep vally if Kinnaur. En route visit Bhimakali Temple. Late evening arrival at Camp Site. Overnight at Sangla.

 

Day-05 :  02nd Aug: SANGLA
After breakfast drive towards Chitkul the last village on Indo – Tibet border (Indain rod ends here). Enjoy the scenic view of Chitkul. Then come back to Sangla and visit famous Kamroo Fort. Overnight in Camp.

 

Day-06 :  SANGLA – NAKO (130 Kms / 05 Hrs)
After breakfast start riding towards Nako. En route visit Rekong Peo (districts headquarter of KInnaur). Late evening arrival at Nako. Nako is slated to be decleared a heritage village and its it built around a small lake. Ir has an important Buddhist Gompa which is 1000 years old and a small Temple. Overnight in Camp.

 

Day-07 :  NAKO – TABO – KAZA (130 Kms / 5 Hrs)
After breakfast start the drive to Kaza. On the way visit the ancient village of Tabo which is situated on the left bank of the river Spiti. It is the seat of one of the most famous Buddhist Monasteries regarded next to the Tholong Gompa in Tibet. It is also known as ‘Ajanta of Himalayas’.

 

Continue drive to Kaza – the Capital of Spiti Valley. Arrive at Kaza & check-in to your Hotel. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day-08 :  KAZA – KIBBER – KAZA
After early breakfast by 07 AM; excursion to Ki Monastery. Situated at the foot of steep ridges & on the left bank of river Spiti is the Ki Monastery which is the Biggest Gelupa Sect Monastery in Spiti. It’s hilltop position points to a post 13TH Century construction. The three storied structure consists largely of storage rooms at the bottom level while the middle floor houses the Dukhang – the Assembly Hall & the uppermost floor has another Temple & Head Lama’s Quarters on the one side of an Open Terrace. 

 

Day-08 : KAZA – KUMZUM LA – KEYLONG ( 120 kms / 06 Hrs)
Today after breakfasy we comence our journey towards Keylong. However we are going to take stop at another spitian wonder – Chandratal Lake. The mystical and beautiful chandratal lake which is also known as moon lake is located at a height of 14,100 feets. 

 

After visiting Chandratal lake we continue driving on Manali – Kaza Road. We pass the famous kumzum la and arrive in Keylong. Overnight at Keylong

 

Day-09 : KEYLONG – MANALI ( 80 Kms / 04 Hrs)
After breakfast start riding towards Manali. En route ride through famous Rohatang pass. Arrival at Manali. Evening leisure time to explore Mall road. Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day-10: MANALI – CHANDIFGARH ( 292 Kms / 12 Hrs)
After breakfast Checkout from the Hotel & departs for Chandigarh. Lunch en-route. evening arrive at Chandigarh. Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day-11 :  CHANDIGARH
After breakfast drop your bikes at Cargo office and take Bus / Train for onward journey




For Bikers/ Pillions: Rs.32, 000/- per person


For Non-Bikers : Rs.34,000/- per person
 

Duration : 10 Nights / 11 Days
 
 

Inclusions:


1. Accommodation on Triple sharing basis in Hotels and sharing basis in tents


2. Daily Breakfast and Dinner


3. Permissions wherever necessary


4. Utility vehicle (For broken down Bikes and accessories)


5. Transportation by Tempo Traveler (for 4 wheel tourists)


6. All Taxes

 

Exclusions: 


1. Daily Lunch


2. Bike Transportation charges (Mumbai – Chandigarh & Chandigarh – Mumbai by Cargo)


3. Fuel and Maintenance Charges


4. Any airfare to and fro /return train fare or overland journey which is not mention in the above itinerary


5. Any medical / rescue evacuation due to mishaps


6. Any personal nature items like Bar, Laundry Bills, Table Bills, Camera Fees, Tip and any other items


7. Mineral water, Soft OR Hard drinks, Starters etc.


8. Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/ stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks and/or any factors beyond control.


9. Any cost arising due to natural calamities like landslides, roadblocks etc (to be borne by the clients directly on the spot.)


10. Anything other than above mention inclusions
