KODACHADRI TREK & NAGARA FORT

Kodachadri is one of the beautiful mountain peaks of Karnataka. It is located in the west of Shimoga district, with an altitude of about 1,343 (4,406 ft) meters above the sea level. It is also recognized as a natural heritage site by Karnataka government. 13 KMs hike gives the required adrenaline rush and gives the ultimate view of Sharavathi backwaters, lush green meadows, jeep trail and dense forest. If lucky enough you can witness the magical view of Arabian sea horizon from Kodachadri peak.

Literal Meaning of Kodachadri is “Jasmine of Hills” in the native language of Karnataka. The Place is famous for numerous waterfalls and mountain peaks and one of the most famous waterfalls – “Hildumane Falls” is located right in the center of the valley. Kodachadri forms a background to the famous temple of Mookambika in Kollur. It is located at a distance of 21 km from Kollur and 15 km from Nagodi village, in Hosanagara taluk.
