We Oonaad Bhramantee are happy to invite you for a one day Trek to Jungli Jaigad this Sunday, on 6th March 2022. Jungli Jaigad fort is an offbeat destination situated in Satara. Fort is located beautifully in thick jungle belonging to Koyna wildlife sanctuary, displaying breathtaking views and natural surroundings; due to which, you would see various birds and wild animals. Don’t be surprised if you spot any wild animal on your trek to Jungli Jaigad Fort.

Description of the fort /

कोयना धरण हे महाराष्ट्रातील सर्वात मोठ धरण आहे. या धरणाच्या भिंतीजवळ कोयनानगर हे छोटस टुमदार गाव वसलेल आहे. जंगली जयगड किल्ला सह्याद्रीच्या मुख्य रांगेतून बाहेर आलेल्या फाट्यावर बांधलेला आहे. कोयनानगरच्या बाजूने सह्याद्रीचा मुख्य डोंगर चढून कोकणाच्या बाजूला आल्यावर समोर लांबवर पसरलेला सह्याद्रीचा फाटा व त्यावरील किल्ला दिसतो. या किल्ल्यावर व आजूबाजूस असलेल्या दाट जंगलामुळे या किल्ल्याला जंगली जयगड हे नाव देण्यात आले होते. आजही या भागात दाट जंगल असून जंगलात वाघ, बिबटे, अस्वल इत्यादी प्राणी असल्याने या गडावर कोणीही रात्री मुक्काम करत नाही. घाटमाथ्याच्या टोकावर असणार्‍या या किल्ल्यावरून कोकणाच विस्तृत दर्शन होत. या गडाचे स्थान पहाता याचा उपयोग कुंभार्ली घाटावर व आजूबाजूच्या प्रदेशावर लक्ष ठेवण्यासाठी होत असावा. किल्ल्यावरून कोकणाच विस्तृत दर्शन होत. उजव्या बाजूस खाली कोळकेवाडी धरण व त्याच्या बाजूच्या डोंगरावरील कोळकेवाडी किल्ला दिसतो. समोरच्या बाजूस दूरवर चिपळूण शहर व वासिष्टी खाडी दिसते. जर वातावरण चांगल असेल तर समुद्राची निळी रेघही दिसते. डाव्या बाजूला खाली कुंभार्ली घाट दिसतो. हा किल्ला चढण्यास सोपा असून गर्द जंगलातून जाणार्‍या रस्त्यामुळे हा एक दिवसाचा ट्रेक अल्हाददायक होतो.

Jangli Jaigad Trek From Pune

Day 1 (5th March 2022)

11:45 PM - Arrival at meeting point

11:55 PM - Depart For Jaigad

Day 2 (6th March 2022)

5:00 AM – Reach base village - Nawja , rest for a while

6:00AM - Have your tea and breakfast with a small instruction session

6:30 AM - Start your trek

8:30 AM - Reach Jaigad, explore the fort & beautiful views

10:00 AM - Start Descending

12:30 PM - Reach base village have your lunch and rest for a while

03:00 PM - Depart for Pune

05:00 PM – Tea on the way

09:00 PM - Arrival at Pune (Time may extend depending on the external situation)
