As it correctly put: “Nature is one of the least used treasures in existence and is capable of relieving our souls and syncing to the internal peace of happiness.”

Because the sun’s rays don’t even reach the valley’s foundation, the Valley is usually dim, hence the name- The valley of Shadows. It is an ideal option for those who would like to wander around in forests and trek with nature. Valley is 200 ft deep and about 1.5 km long. Sandhan Valley is located on the western side of the beautiful Bhandardara region, near Samrad village. The valley is surrounded by mighty Alang, Madan and Kulang, Ajoba & Kalsubai the highest peak in Maharashtra mountain ranges.

DAY 1: Friday – Leave from CSMT and Board the 22:50 Kasara Local

Board Indrayani train from Pune at 18:35

Reach Kalyan 21:00 (have dinner before you board the train)

Board local train till Kasara.

DAY 2: Saturday – Sandhan Valley Descend Trek and Camping

01:30 Assemble at Kasara Railway Station.

05:30 Reach base village by local transport.

06:30 Breakfast.

07:00 Start full descend trek towards Sandhan Valley.

13:30 Lunch en route.

16:00 Evening tea.

20:30 Dinner & Night Stay under open Sky in Tent.

DAY 3: Sunday – Ascend Trek

06:30 Wake up and hustle! After some breakfast of course.

08:30 Start descending toward Dehne village.

12:30 Reach Dehne village.

14:30 Departure from Dehne village to Asangaon.

16:30 Disperse at Asangaon railway station.

Get ready folks! Time to leave at night (via 22:50 Kasara local from CSMT) rather we better say, it’s time to commence our journey towards Bhandardara, Samrad village till the valley of suspense.

Reach Kasara by 1:30 am and boarding local transportation. we will be reaching the base village around 4:30 am.

After breakfast and some rest, we’ll set off with a guide to Sandhan valley. Finally, we embark on the breathtaking journey to the Sandhan Valley trek. In between, we will have lunch and continue to wander around.

Upon descending, you will come across and use a rope ladder after which there will be some among rocky patches. There will be water pools to wade in, followed by wide rocks, and then you will reach the camping site.

Woohoo! Your views will include Bann pinnacle, Ajoba hill, Kalsubai, etc.

Here comes the best part. Any guesses? Yes, it’s the most amazing night. (We know that the Sandhan valley trek excites you more with the added flavour of camping and here’s come the moment, the much-awaited Sandhan Valley Camping) backpacking under a five-billion-star hotel after a delicious dinner.

After a beautiful night of stargazing and Sandhan Valley Camping, we freshen up, and post breakfast we will descend towards Dehne village.

Here we end our trek with the best of Sandhan valley memories and disperse at Asangaon station with HikerWolf’s remembrance!
