Helping Hands Half Marathon

ABOUT HELPING HANDS JAIPUR SOCIETY
We are a Jaipur based NGO established in 2005 for the purpose of the upliftment of slum dwellers of Jaipur. As our ‘Helping Hands’ name suggests we are not for handouts to the poor, but for providing platforms through which these people can launch themselves into lives that are long term beneficial for themselves, their families & communities and the broader Jaipur society. To achieve our development goals we have 5 major programs – 1) Children’s & Adult’s Education, 2) Women’s Education & Skill Training, 3) Financial Management, 4) Community Health, Hygiene and Environment. and 5) Citizen’s Awareness.

We commenced our school in 2005 with just 27 underprivileged children, today we have 400 children enrolled and receiving totally free education from Nursery to 10th standard. Totally free education includes textbooks, copies, full uniforms and school bags, conveyance, nutritional lunches, excursions and full medical care.

By the year 2022 we will be providing free education and vocational skills training for up to 1,000 of these children. 
 

HELPING HANDS HALF MARATHON SUN 11TH NOV 2018

This marathon event provides the Running Community the opportunity to offer a Helping Hand towards the uplifting of the poor children through care and good quality education. In addition Sportsmanship, Fitness, Community Spirit, and Goodwill will be fostered through your participation in this marathon.

Through this event Helping Hands hopes to raise a good amount of money to go towards the building of our own school for these children. As well as registering for the marathon you can click the donate button and give towards the ongoing running of our school. An 80G tax deductible receipt will be provided for all donations. 

 

VENUE

Vaishali Nagar, starting and finishing out side of Chitrakoot Stadium, running through Vaishali Nagar.

 

CATEGORIES & STARTING TIMES

21km Half Marathon – starting at 6-00 am sharp.

10km Run – starting at 6.30 am sharp.

5km Fun Run – starting at 7.00 am sharp.

 

PRIZES

21km – 1st prize (both men & women) – 6,000/- gift voucher usable at Decathlon Sports Jaipur.

21km – 2nd prize (both men & women) – 4,000/- gift voucher usable at Decathlon Sports Jaipur.

21km – 3rd prize (both men & women) – 2,000/- gift voucher usable at Decathlon Sports Jaipur.

 

10km – 1st prize    (both men & women) – 6,000/- gift voucher usable at Decathlon Sports Jaipur.

10km – 2nd prize (both men & women) – 4,000/- gift voucher usable at Decathlon Sports Jaipur.

10km – 2nd prize (both men & women) – 2,000/- gift voucher usable at Decathlon Sports Jaipur.

 

*Note: We will present trophies to the winner for 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank.

 

PRE RACE INFO

Collection of Bibs, goodie bags, t shirts etc at Pink City Runners office R12, Yudhisthir Marg, C Scheme, Ashok Nagar (across from Deer Park) on Sat 10/11 from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
