Harihar fort was strategically important location as it stands between pass from Maharashtra and Gujrat. It is located in Trambak range , one of many ranges in Nashik District. This fort was surrendered to Mughals by Shahji Maharaj in 1636.
This fort along with 7 forts was surrendered to Capt Briggs in 1818. It is said that he was about to break the steps of Harihar fort but by seeing its beauty he got enchanted and leave the fort as it is.
Main attraction of fort is 60 degree rock cut steps.steps.There are 117steps in all. It is like ladder of stones put there to climb the fort.Other places to visit.

4.Wild flowers.
5. Nest of Eagle if it is there.
You can see view of basgad and Trambak ranges in west side,bramhagiri on east,kalsubai from south east and shelbari peak in north direction
