Guitar Waali Baithak is a captivating concept that combines Indian Classical Music with the electric guitar in an intimate setting. Unlike more formal concerts held for large audiences, a baithak brings together artists and listeners in relatively close quarters. This allows for direct interaction between the artist and the audience, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the art form. Baithaks are vital in preserving the essence of Indian classical music, and this modern take infuses it with the vibrant sounds of the electric guitar, revitalizing the age - old tradition with contemporary flair.

It is being hosted in Cooke Town, known for its serene and grounded nature on 2nd June, Sunday, 6 pm to 7.30 pm

About the Artist:

Aniket Gundewar is a versatile Indian classical musician who plays the electric guitar with a unique style that blends Gayaki Aang and Tantkari Tantra techniques. His journey began under the guidance of renowned violinists Pandit Atul kumar Upadhye and Shri Tejas Upadhye, who belong to the tradition of Pandit Bhaskarbuwa Bakhale and Pandit Shridhar Parsekar. Over the years, he has performed at various venues and events across India.

Beyond his musical pursuits, Aniket is also a sound engineer and music producer. He has had the privilege of working with award -winning artists. Despite holding a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pune, his true passion lies in music. In 2022, he was honoured with the “Rising Stars” award by UVVV, Pune. His vision is to make Indian classical music more relatable and popular among a wider audiences.
