Celebrating ‘50 years of humans landing on the moon’ with this year’s theme of Space Chase, this global challenge is based on the principle of encouragement and motivation and inspires children to read for pleasure, thus improving their English, developing their reading skills, and building their confidence.
The six-week challenge, open to children from the age of 5 to 11 years, will commence from 4 November in Delhi. The Reading Challenge will encourage the participating children to read 6 or more books n 6 weeks from a collection of handpicked titles by British Council. The British Council will also organise multiple workshops for participants to help them improve reading skill and acquire storytelling and creative writing skills.
The Reading Challenge will culminate in a mega award ceremony where winners will be felicitated and awarded certificates. The British Council in New Delhi stays true to its promise of creating an unconventional space which is safe and child friendly. The family membership of the library entails a lot of benefits, providing an environment that nurtures learning and growth.
