Garbett plateau Night Trek

Garbett Plateau Trek is famous for the stunning view it offers from the top most point of the trek during sunrise, also called the Garbett Point. From its very location in the south-west of Matheran, one can easily get a 360-degree view of entire hill station that comprises countless waterfalls, the lush green blanket of the Sahyadaris and one of the biggest plateaus in the region, making it a priceless view for a true nature lover. The route to the Garbett point is even more interesting, where after a quick sneak-peak into the villages nearby, you walk all alongside a beautiful dam called Dhom. During monsoons one gets to cross a few streams, encounter small waterfalls on the way and you get to see the 115ft waterfall called as Diksal waterfall, which is one of the attractions on this route. Post monsoons the land becomes all green and is one of the most sort after treks. We will trek from the easy patches to steep climbs and stronger wind blows as you’re nearing the plateau. This continues while heading towards the Garbett point. Any time between July to March is a good time to trek here.

Hike: 3.5 - 4 km

Walk: 6.5 - 7 km

Trek Date: 13th & 14th March 2021 

This trek is approximately 11km long and it takes around 6hrs - 7hrs to complete the trek. This trek can be done by first timers who are fit in their daily routine

Grade: Easy 

Best part about this trek is this is one way trek there is no descending best option for first timer

04:30 am Reach at Garbett Plateau we have free time till sun rise we can listen to music or share some fun stories or take a rest we will have a bonfire on the top of plateau

06:30 am Get ready with your camera to see beautiful sun rise from top

07:00 am Start our way back to dasturi naka it’s a 3 km plain walk

08:00 am once we reach at Dasturi naka we will have Breakfast in Matheran or in neral. Start our journey back to Mumbai

10:00 pm we will reach neral station from here can board a return train to CSMT

A. No. These pickup timings are decided after considering the Traffic jam on Saturday night and we don’t want our participates to wait for us on road late night

A. Yes. whatever meals provided by us will be homely cooked food. Chai / coffee and snacks will be provided in the village between this trek & Breakfast will be arranged in matheran or at neral station depending on availability

A. Our cost is already very low if you compare with group size. We at Backpacker Tours don’t work in Quantity. We always preferred and try to enhance participants experience for which above given cost is as low as possible from our side.
