Frames of Purasai is a heritage photo walk that Madras Inherited will be conducting in collaboration with the Photographic Society of Madras (PSM). Established in 1857, just a few years after the first ever photograph was taken, the Photographic Society of Madras founded by Dr. Alexander Hunter and the Honorable Walter Elliot is a vibrant and dedicated band of photographers. PSM has as its members, some of the finest photographers of India who are willing to share their tips and experiences and promote this art.
Named after a tree, the area of Purasawalkam has grown into a bustling locality of the city possessing an urban fabric that has been shaped by its heritage structures. Join us this Saturday as we explore the area that was once a village and has now transformed into one of the major shopping hubs of the city.
PSM will guide the participants on the basic techniques of architectural photography and assist them in capturing the vibrant streetscapes and eclectic architecture of Purasawalkam.
