DUDHSAGAR ECO WATERFALL HIKE 19-20 JULY 2019

A Startling Marvel Of The Western Ghats. The name ‘Dudhsagar’ literally translates to ‘sea of milk’ which many believe is an allusion to the white spray and foam that the great waterfall creates as it cascades into the waters of the lake. The falls are at their zenith during the monsoon season, although they are a popular attraction all year round. The majestic cascade of white water, gushing over the steep, nearly vertical face of the mountain from a spectacular height of 1017ft; is both breath taking and awe inspiring, making one aware that there are many forces in nature much more powerful that the human mind and body.

Location

This waterfall is located in the Sanguem Taluka of Goa, and falls into the jurisdiction of the Goa Forest departments since it is a part of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary.

ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Departure to Dudhsagar

15:30 HRS IST – Meet Team at Pune Railway Junction

16:25 HRS IST – Departure to Dudhsagar by Goa Express

Day 2 - Start the Trek towards Dudhsagar

04:40 HRS IST – Get down at Kulem station

05:20 HRS IST – Start hike towards Dudhsagar waterfall view point after Introduction - Safety Advisory session, permission from DTOA

07:20 HRS IST – Breakfast at Sonalium

08:30 HRS IST – Reach the base of the Waterfall & Enjoy our time

09:30 HRS IST – Hike back to Kulem through the wildlife sanctuary

14:00 HRS IST – Reach Kulem for Lunch

16:00 HRS IST – Head to Kulem Station for Return journey

16:30 HRS IST – Board the train (Goa Express) to Pune.

Dinner on Wheels at Belgaon available.

Day 3 - Reach Pune

FITNESS & HEALTH

Though trekking/hiking is a fun-filled activity, it requires good amount of physical fitness, stamina, and endurance. If you are under medication, please carry your personal medicines. During the course of the adventure activity, squad leaders will have over the counter medication for temporary treatment/first aid only.

WORD OF CAUTION:

Avoid wearing precious jewellery while trekking, as Organisers won’t be

responsible for any losses for the same or kinds.

It is not advisable to enter the base of the waterfall during monsoon when the

water flows with a lot of force.

Mobile network connectivity is negligible in the area, as it is surrounded by

a dense forest.

Consumption of liquor, smoking cigarettes or any kind of alcoholic/nerve

stimulating substances is strictly prohibited.

Carrying any kind of illegal substance is strictly prohibited. Anybody found

smoking or consuming alcoholic drinks will be expelled from the event without

refund.

No restaurants or food stalls are present near Dudhsagar Waterfalls. Make sure you

carry your own food items. You would get local village food at the only house

in Sonalium.

If you go to the base of the falls, remember to keep any eatables inside your

bags the moment you enter Dudhsagar Waterfall entrance gate. There will be fearless monkeys all

around who would snatch any colourful wrapper they see.

There are no cloak rooms/ lockers to keep your luggage near the falls.

Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary is a plastic free zone. Please do not

litter the place.

Toilets are available near the falls but their cleanliness is another

question.

Since this event requires hike through a wildlife sanctuary, you may come

across any form of wildlife like snakes, insects, et.c in certain sections.

You need to be careful, and walk together.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Following deductions will be made in case of Cancellation:

20 Days before the Date of Departure – 25% of Regular Charges.

Within 20 Days but before 10 Days of the Date of Departure – 50% of Regular Charges.

Within 10 Days but before the Date of Departure – NO REFUND

For Train: As per Train rules + Rs.500 Service Charge.

In case the participant(s) have booked railway tickets / bus tickets or hired a taxi in for the tour (or its extension), through us, then the refund paid by the railway authorities / bus operator / taxi operator shall be forwarded to the participants after deducting the processing charges, in case of cancellation made for the tour by the participant or tour being cancelled by Organizer.
