Brecilla (a.k.a. Brecilla D’souza) is a singer-songwriter, composer, vocal arranger, voice coach and voice-over artist based in Mumbai, India. She is one of the top 24 NEXA season 2 artist, handpicked by Mr. AR Rahman. Her music is influenced by the likes of Emily King, Yebba, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Jessie J, Eminem, and many more. Growing up, she was surrounded by the performance arts - be it Church choir or Bharatnatyam. Her music is emotive, powerful, and personal. Her bold and powerful voice adds to her vocal strength along with livening up her stage performances. Adding on to her vocal prowess, she plays the keys and the alto saxophone in her performances. Her songwriting is honest, genuine, and raw.She has been active in the indie scene for around 6 years, starting with being the lead vocalist with the band My Kind Of Blue, one of three vocalists at Queendom (vocal trio), and has now released three tracks from her debut album.
