This month Books, Chai & More, the Raah Book Club will be discussing the book " I who have never known men" by Jacqueline Harpmann.
Deep underground, thirty-nine women live imprisoned in a cage. Watched over by guards, the women have no memory of how they got there, no notion of time, and only vague recollection of their lives before.
As the burn of electric light merges day into night and numberless years pass, a young girl - the fortieth prisoner - sits alone and outcast in the corner. Soon she will show herself to be the key to the others' survival.
The discussion will be led by Bharati Tuljapurkar Jagtap she is a retired University professor of French. Bharati graduated from Miranda House, Delhi, did her post-graduation in French from University of Pune. Studied for two years at the Sorbonne University, Paris on scholarship. Her Ph.D in French viz comparative literature , is from the University of Mumbai.
