Book Launch-Saeed Akhtar Mirza

Memorialized director, ​​Saeed Akhtar Mirza will be launching his latest​ book​ ​-​ ​Memory In The Age Of Amnesia; A Personal History Of Our Times on Friday, 6thJuly at 6​:00​ PM.

 The book will be launched with national award-winning filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt and academic and activist ​Ritu Dewan. The event will be moderated by Sidharth Bhatia, founding editor of The Wire.

Gracing the event with their presence, are eminent guests Ashutosh Gowariker, Sudhir Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Sanjana Kapoor, Nandita Das, Deepti Naval and Kiran Rao.

Memory in the Age of Amnesia; A​ ​Personal ​History ​O​f ​Our ​Times is  Saeed’s third book after Ammi:Letter to a Democratic Mother and The Monk, the Moor & Moses Ben Jalloun. It set in ​​precarious past the nation faced. It explores meaning and defines one’s understanding of terror, patriotism, democracy and national interest. 

Saeed​ Mirza's​ work seeks to establish multiple realities through a series of tales and stories that are rooted in dreams, nightmares, violence and repentance. This book is a collection excerpts from Saeed’s personal life that showcases the past and links it to the present.
