Bhandardara Fireflies Night Drive

Adventure Club Pune invites you to experience the magical Fireflies Festival Trail at Bhandardara — a unique nature escape where you can witness the glowing dance of fireflies in the heart of the forest. This special pre-monsoon event lets you walk through hidden trails lit by the bioluminescent glow of hundreds of fireflies, a natural phenomenon that’s both rare and mesmerizing. The trip includes a guided night tour through the firefly-rich forest areas, visits to secret spots where fireflies gather in large numbers, and stargazing under the open sky. The campsite is beautifully located by the peaceful Bhandardara Lake, surrounded by serene mountains, providing a perfect backdrop for a memorable night out in nature.

The package includes the guided fireflies tour, access to hidden firefly trails, guide charges, and the use of campsite amenities such as washrooms and parking. However, travel to and from the campsite is not included unless you opt for a transport package. Additionally, personal food items such as cold drinks, snacks, and mineral water are not part of the package.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, participants should carry a rucksack with extra clothes, a raincoat or light jacket, socks, a water bottle, snacks, personal medications, and a hygiene kit. Comfortable full-sleeve clothing and good trekking shoes are essential. A torch is a must for the night trail, and since some areas may lack electricity, a power bank is recommended. Identity proof is mandatory.

Strict rules are in place to protect both the environment and the group. Alcohol, smoking, and any intoxicants are strictly prohibited. Littering on trails and playing loud music in forested areas are not allowed. The trek leader's decisions are final for the group's safety. The club will not be held responsible for any injuries or illnesses that occur during the trek. Wearing valuables or jewelry is discouraged, and participants are expected to follow a respectful code of conduct throughout.

The campsite at Bhandardara offers a stunning natural setting with lakeside views, a relaxing ambiance, bonfires, music, games, and camping under the stars. It’s one of Maharashtra’s top camping spots, located about 160 km from Mumbai and 200 km from Pune. The nearest railway stations are Kasara and Igatpuri.
