Belongg is putting together the inaugural edition of the Belongg Online Literature Festival for diversity & inclusion, which will be held between the 3rd-6th of July 2020.
In a world that is deeply divided along lines of identity, books provide windows into the lives, struggles, and joys of others, thereby enabling empathetic engagement with and inclusion of those different from ourselves.
The Belongg Online Literature Festival
will feature interactive sessions with Indian and international
authors who have been writing on themes of gender,
sexuality, caste, race, religion, disability, or prejudice. The festival will be hosted on the remote conferencing
platform Zoom and will start early morning
India-time and running till late evening India-time to
enable participation from across time zones.
Sessions in the Festival will feature a range of formats including (a) moderated panel discussions featuring 3-4 authors writing on related themes, (b) individual author readings followed by Q&A sessions, (c) interviews with authors, and (d) on-the-spot contests for attendees. On all days, we will have tracks running with multiple sessions of about 60-90 minutes through the day with appropriate breaks in between. Simultaneously, we will create breakout sessions where individual authors would interact with participants.
Over 75 authors and 20 publishing houses have already confirmed and more are expected to in the coming days. For a full list, please check out the Festival website: www.belongglitfest.com
Passes For The Festival
We have created five different passes for the Festival but all of them carry the same access and benefits. These are Patron passes (Level-1, Level-2, Level-3, Level-4, and Flexible) that are priced at INR 200, 500, 1000, 2,500 & for a custom amount greater than 2,500 respectively. These are meant for Patrons who are able to support the effort that Belongg and its partners have put in organizing this Festival thereby enabling us to do more of these and also pay for external support to edit videos of the Festival as well as helping making sessions accessible to people with hearing disabilities.
PLEASE NOTE: We want to repeat, there are no special benefits to any of these passes. The free pass gets you the same benefits as any of the Patron Passes. But we do ask that you try and buy a pass that represents fair value for more than 40 hours of programming that we will put together for this Festival.
You will be given the Zoom login details shortly after buying your pass on your email address.
FREE PASS UPDATE: We have made more free passes available. In case you are really keen on attending the Festival, but might be unable to pay at this stage, please feel free to take free passes as there are still a limited number available.
