Name of the Session: Assessing Assessment
Sub-Theme: Reasoning & Competency-Based Pedagogy: Tools for 21st-Century Teaching
Brief Description of the Session
Aligned with the vision of NEP 2020, CBSE–CBE, and NCF–SE 2023, this 90-minute online session aims to empower teachers to integrate reasoning and competency-based learning across all subjects.
The workshop will explore how reasoning nurtures logical thinking, problem-solving, and metacognition — essential 21st-century competencies. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, item-design tasks, and collaborative reflections to move from rote-based instruction to inquiry-driven, competency-oriented classrooms.
Through real classroom examples, puzzles, and subject-specific reasoning tasks, teachers will learn how to design questions and activities that assess understanding and application, not just recall. The session concludes with actionable strategies and ready-to-use resources for everyday classroom integration.
