Alkemic #4 will celebrate the rhythm of the lived and felt female experience in a transforming world. Get set for a genre-hopping, polyhedral set where indie women musicians share original music as well as tributes to artistes across generations, soundscapes, languages, geographies. Curated by @madameQrie, the evening will give props to women’s music and hold space for new sounds to alchemize in the there & then, with you as witness!
FIRST ACT: Pakhi & the Murder
Pakhi & the Murder is an ensemble led by Pakhi—a blues & soul vocalist, flautist, and songwriter—alongside Shireen on back-up vocals & Nayan on the guitar. For Alkemic, they will blend fresh, original music with powerful songs written and sung by women. Songs that speak of simple truths. Songs that will echo in our hearts for long, very long.
SECOND ACT: Ayana
Ayana is a poet-musician and multi-instrumental composer, ‘fiercely trans’ in every form. Through her songs, she explores spaces of transition between ideas, feelings, identities, and memories along with her gender. She brings a sombre solo set with guitar, featuring originals she’s written so she can keep existing in this world as a woman, also some covers and on-site collabs.
THIRD ACT: cortencanal
cortencanal loves crafting stories through her eclectic vinyl collection, spanning several styles, genres & geographies. A Spanish selector from Andalusia, she channels her passion for research, cultural exploration, and discovering crossroads into her music sessions.
