Basic + Advanced Watercolor Floral Painting workshop by Priyanka

About the Artist:

My name is Priyanka Pramanik (@mooninkarts) and I am currently settled in Chennai, India. I am watercolor enthusiast who loves to paint florals and sometimes landscapes as well. I have done Post Graduation in Microbiology from Madras Christian College but I live my life mostly as an artist every day. I was like any other child who loves to do art or be creative but shy always when it comes to showing it to the world. However, I took a leap of faith and joined Instagram community around May 2018 and that became turning point of my art journey.

I am really thankful to each and everyone who supported and loved this journey of mine till now and I hope you guys like it too. On the end note, I would like to confess that I am a big fan of botanical line drawing and ink illustrations!

Here's what you will learn in this workshop:

Session 1 (Basics):

1. Basics Of watercolors.
2. Basic Brush Strokes
3. Painting Roses using round brush
4. Painting variants of 5 petal flowers
5. Painting varieties of leaves
6. Adding details with liner or smaller  brush
7. How to use light and shadow effects
8. Easy / Miscellaneous techniques to paint loose florals
9. Final floral arrangements/Composition/wreath

Session 2 (Advanced):

1. Various ways of Blending and layering the watercolors
2. How to paint Hydrangeas
3. How to paint Hibiscus
4. Miscellaneous techniques to paint tropical floral elements
5. How to use specialty Brushes (Dagger and Angular Brushes)
   

1. A sheet of your favorite watercolor paper (preferred – 100% cotton, more than 250 gsm)
2. A round brush (Size – 6 or 8 )
3. Dagger Brush (Size – 6 or 8 )
4. Angular Brush (Size – 6 or 8 )
5. A smaller brush (size 2 or less)
6. Watercolors
7. Palette and Tissue papers.
