South India's biggest Cultural Festival to be held Virtual Live on FB, Youtube Instagram and Twitter From August 22 to September 1, 2020
• Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava (BGU) 2020 to kick off on August 22, the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi
• Lord Ganesha to be worshipped at Ganesh Mantapa at Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, Basavanagudi. Daily puja will be Live on FB, Youtube Instagram and Twitter

Rao, fusion concert by Pravin Godkhindi, Ragas in film songs by MD Pallavi and performances by renowned artists
Bengaluru, Tuesday, August 18, 2020: Keeping the tradition of South India’s largest Ganesh Utsava- the Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava is alive and will celebrate the festival within the norms of the present safety precautions. The organisers, Shree Vidyaranya Yuvaka Sangha have announced that the 58th Edition of the much awaited Utsava will be held virtual this year.
Its that time of the year that Bengaluru comes together to celebrate its annual union with the God of Wisdom at the city’s most awaited Ganesha pandal - The Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava. The festival this year will be kicked off on the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi, August 22, with the installation of Lord Ganesha at Ganesha Mantapa at Sri. Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, Basavanagudi. The 10-day cultural performances which are held as part of the Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava every year will go virtual this year and can be watched live on your FB, Youtube Instagram and Twitter.
As per tradition every year, the 58th Editon of the cultural festival brings together some of the most renowned musicians and artists on a common platform to celebrate the birth of Ganesha, the beloved Elephant-headed God of Wisdom. For art and music lovers, BGU 2020 as always promises to be a pilgrimage to an enchanting world of music and tradition.
Managing Trustee of BGU, Nandish SM says, “Over the last 58 years, we have worked towards improving the spirit of the festival, culturally and spiritually. Simultaneously, we have also made sure that we adhere to the rules and regulations put forward for the general well-being of Bangaloreans ensuring the safety and health of our people, given the present covid situation across the world today. The decision to take the festival virtual was to keep the festival spirit alive and also to provide a platform for all the musicians and artists to perform and bring in a celebration of positivity amidst these challenging times.”
With all traditional rituals, Lord Ganesha will be worshipped for 11 days at the Ganesha Mantapa and public will be allowed with strict adherence to social distancing and masks will be mandatory.
The highlights of the 10-day cultural performances include:
• 12-Hours Sugama Sangeetha on Day 2 by singers from across Karnataka, led by Praveen D. Rao
• Chakrafonics and Friends on Day 4- Chakrafonics caters to a wide spectrum of genres such as Indian classical music, cross-over and world music
• Folk Rock Musical Concert by Raghu Dixit Project on Day 7
• Manju Drums Collective (MDC) Reloaded on Day 8- Brainchild of Bengaluru’s multifaceted Drummer and Percussionist Manjunath NS, MDC comes back to BGU this year as “Manju Drums Collective-Reloaded” to pay a fitting tribute to the Entertainment Industry in its own way
• 12-Hours Nonstop Parampara.. the Era- Evolution of Music in India on Day 9 which will take one through the various paramparas including Classical, Devotional, Bhaava Sangeetha, Sufi & Loksangeet, Cinema and Deshbhakti
• Vijay Prakash Live in Concert on Day 10
