While they deeply value learning as a key component of their individual growth, their preferred modes of learning are different from previous generations. Student-led B-school: A Leadership Conundrum?
A student-led B-school is buzzing place where students are all charged up and have created their own high performance Culture, which passes on from batch to batch. These students see themselves as co-owners of key processes like Placements, Admissions and Learning Experience. Indeed, at times, the Student approach can be at odds with Leadership and Faculty. Students may focus on the immediate, here and now, while the leadership may think of long term. So how does B-school leadership tread the path cautiously? How can they create an atmosphere where students are co-owners of the key processes? This session will discuss this intriguing challenge faced by the Institution leaders.

B-SCHOOL DIRECTOR’S ROUNDTABLE
Topic: NEP 2020 and Standalone B-schools – Structure, Opportunities, Challenges
The Union Cabinet approved the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on July 29. The new policy, which replaces the 34 year old policy of 1986, aims to pave way for transformational reforms in education systems in the country. The Prime Minister has emphasised that the NEP aims to keep the current and future generations ‘Future Ready’ while focussing on the National Values and National Goals. NEP envisages broad based, multi-disciplinary, holistic Under Graduate education with flexible curricula, creative combinations of subjects, integration of vocational education and multiple entry and exit points with appropriate certification. NEP 2020 also says that Affiliation of Colleges is to be phased out in 15 years and a stage-wise mechanism is to be established for granting graded autonomy to colleges. Over a period of time, it is envisaged that every college would develop into either an Autonomous degree-granting College, or a constituent college of a university. So how should Standalone B-schools like IIMs and leading PGDM B-schools evolve to meet the policy requirements and the market opportunities? This session shall include discussion on following important issues:
Future shape of Regulatory Structure for Standalone B-school in India
Opportunity to offer Under Graduate Management Education and Liberal Education Courses
Other potential opportunities and challenges for implementing NEP
