Mumbai Suburban Half Marathon

Mumbai Suburban Half Marathon organized by Fitizen India is an event to showcase various suburbs across Mumbai to all the experienced and newbie runners. The first edition of this run is happening on July 8 at one of the most popular suburbs of Mumbai – Borivali!

Borivali is the only neighborhood in Mumbai which has a forest on the east (Sanjay Gandhi National Park) & mangrove forests in Gorai, the west. Borivali is home to several gaothans (village like localities) such as Vazira, Babhai, Eksar, Chikuwadi, Shimpoli, Poisur and others which are still there with their old charm but slowly giving way to the concrete jungle.

It is special both in terms of its location — a place where you can be away from the busy world, yet still be a part of it.

Participants not opting for courier service facility can come personally at the BIB collection center to collect the registration kit. BIB expo venue & timing will be messeged to the runners personally and details regarding the same will available shortly.

Here are few highlights of the Mumbai Suburban Half Marathon

Unique features of the race

• No hassles of personally coming to collect your registration kit. We will courier your bibs and race kit. The last date to register  to get the registration kit to your place is 7 June
• Participants registering before June 10 will get FREE PERSONALISED T-Shirts.
• Complimentary marathon running photos to the participants
• Finisher medal will be provided to all runners on completion of race.
• Individual race completion time will be shared through personal message to all participating runners.
• E-Certificate will be available to all the participants within 7 working days from the race day.

Race categories

• Family 5km run - A great and fun way for the parents to run along with their children. Even individual runners can participate in this event.
• 10km/21km runs – These are timed runs and the electronic timing chip will be provided

Age categories

• 5 km run is open for girls & boys, women & men   8 years and above
• 10 km Men Open & Women Open categories -  14 years to 45 years; Men veteran & Women veteran categories – 46 years to 59 years ; Men senior citizen & Women senior citizens  categories 60+. Top 3 runners in each of the categories win Trophies.
• 21km Men Open & Women Open categories -  18 years to 45 years; Men veteran & Women veteran categories – 46 years to 59 years . Men senior citizen  & Women senior citizen categories 60+. Top 3 runners in each of the categories win Trophies.

Race support and nutrition

• The venue and the race route will have ample water & nutrition stations.
• All runners will be provided breakfast post the run. Please retain your bib as a proof of participation in the run. Breakfast will be provided only runners with valid bibs.
• Ambulance and medical support would be provided during the run.
• Time limit for 10 km – 100 Minutes; 21 km – 200 Minutes. All support stations, volunteers and timing mats will be removed post this time cutoff.

Race affiliation and timing eligibility for other marathons

• The event is organized under the aegis of Mumbai Suburban District Athletics Association
• Electronic timing chip will be given to all participants in 10km and 21km distance categories.
• This is a qualifier race for major marathons across India
