About the Workshop:
In this workshop we would be covering the different types of bag and purses that we can make at home with easy techniques like furoshiki, ancient Japanese technique (No sew and knotting art) and other DIY techniques. These products / bags that can be used in our daily lives in a functional way as shopping bags, small purses, gifting bags, wrapping objects or add that chic aesthetics to your outfit.
About the Artist:
Devika Rao is a product and accessories designer and her studio based out of New Delhi, India. She has been creating accessories and wearable art over the last couple of years for her personal projects and has worked with various established companies like Hidesign, Nappa Dori and La Maï. Devika's accessories are characterised by combining voluminous organic forms with craftsmanship and innovative hand techniques.
Material required (Not Compulsory):
- 1 meter fabric (silk / cotton / rayon)
- Rings for handle
- detachable bag handle
- Needle & thread ( only if you're familiar)
