OVERVIEW
Organized by: Colours of Glory Foundation, Chennai
Colours of Glory Foundation is a non-profit organization championed by armed forces veterans engaged in promoting India’s military heritage. The Victory Day Marathon is being held on 16 December 2018 to commemorate the historic victory of our armed forces in the 1971 War that saw the mass surrender of Pakistani troops to our forces on 16 December that year, annually celebrated by us as the Victory Day since. Since the war was won in 13 days each kilometre of the 13-KM marathon will honour one day our soldiers fought. The marathon will follow a route from Elliot’s Beach to Foreshore Estate Promenade and back to Elliot’s Beach, along some of the coolest avenues of Chennai. There are also 3 scaled-down categories of the course, Half (6.5 KM), Quarter (3.25 KM) and Mini (1.6 KM). Top 3 runners in all four categories will be awarded trophies, while all participants will receive Finisher Medals and Certificates. T-Shirt, bib, breakfast and drinking water will be provided for all.
Registration Fee for all 4 categories: Rs.500/-. No refund is admissible under any circumstances. In case of the event being called off on 16 December due to rain, it will be held on another suitable day within a month or month and a half.
This marathon is one among the many outdoor and indoor events Colours of Glory Foundation hosts to inspire our youth with patriotism and love for the men and women who stake their lives and limbs to defend our country and freedom. Please visit us at www.coloursofglory.org
