Thomso

Thomso is the annual cultural festival of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, which has also been recognized as the "Annual Youth Festival of Uttarakhand". Regarded as one of the greatest and the grandest youth festivals of India, Thomso encompasses in itself lavish history, splendid culture and a profoundly rich heritage of IIT Roorkee.

The previous editions of the festival have witnessed the likes of Raghu Dixit Project Farhan Akhtar, KK, Mohit Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Indian Ocean, Parikrama, Jal - The Band, Benea Reach and many more performing at the Pro-nites.

The 34th edition of Thomso will be organized from Oct. 20th to Oct. 23rd 2016. The theme of Thomso ’16 is “Song of The Wildflower” as we revive the era of 70's. Fuelled by psychedelic music 70’s itself was like a dream, ingenuity and passion had taken the driver's seat. People working in their garages were starting to make history. Steve Jobs came up with Apple, feminism was making waves in the society and even our knowledge of the Universe was growing with Stephen Hawking’s theory on black holes. In a world where being different is frowned upon, people were finally embracing their inner misfits and why not? Misfits were changing the very world. So on this 20th-23rd October let’s relive the spirit of the 70’s and “Discover the Proud misfit with a weary soul” and set it free. After all, the best thing you can be is yourself.
