Event Information

The Corona Virus has hit most countries around the world and has drastically affected normal businesses operations on the one side and normal consumption activities on the other. The Fashion industry has been especially hit as its products and services are discretionary and its consumption can be postponed.

The onset of the Carona has changed how Fashion as a business operates, certainly in the short-run and perhaps forever. With the new normal, challenges have increased and so have the opportunities.

Fashion is moving to virtual formats and sustainability and handcrafted fashion are the talk of the hour.
Last few months, ICF has been organising webinars with industry experts to take a stock of the post Covid-19 landscape and the issues and hurdles that face the Fashion Industry and the way forward.

The International College of Fashion is now organizing a Panel Discussion with experts and stake holders from the industry on the opportunities that await the new entrants and the fashion aspirants and to find solutions, both immediate and in the long run, to issues and hurdles resulting from the pandemic.

The Future of Fashion: Fashion Industry and Opportunities, post-COVID

Finding the key solutions to hurdles and limitations to the growth and development of the Fashion Industry in a post-Covid19 era, this includes areas in design, manufacturing, marketing, retailing, promotion, and consumer behaviour.

In the same year, he became the first Indian designer to hold a solo showing in Delhi, he was also the first designer to be invited to hold a runway show at Olympus fashion week, New York and, he was one of the first Indian designers to retail through Selfridges.

Ashish held his first exclusive menswear show in 1999. His experimentation with fabrics, infusing them with unusual textures and treatments took him to conceive embroideries for The House of Francois Lasage, Paris. He was then also chosen by the Government of India to present an exclusive collection to commemorate the Millennium celebrations of Khajuraho.

At his debut in Olympus fashion week, New York, September 2005, he was hailed as “one of New York’s new discoveries” by International Herald Tribune’s Suzy Menkes.

Ashish Soni has also served as the Chief Design Officer, for international luxury brand Vanessa G which was launched in London in 2011.

Ashish is known for his sharply refined and deceptively simple sense of aesthetics

His signature lines are characterized by extreme simplicity, flawless lines, immaculate cuts and a perfect finish. His panache and originality, his intuitive and original sense of style, combine with impeccable garment construction to create stunningly simple yet dramatic garments. Immaculate tailoring & attention to detail derived from a menswear background remains the brands forte.

With design as his primary focus, embellishments are subsidiary and used with great restraint to highlight form. The balance between mind and eye, skill, innovation and sense of drama translates into timeless and distinctive garments for men and women of the new millennium.
