We welcome you to participate in the International Asteroid Discovery Project organized by STEM & Space in collaboration with International Astronomy Search Collaboration' (IASC), Pan-STARRS and NASA’s Citizen Science Project.
IASC is an online student-based discovery program in Astronomy. This outreach program provides high quality, real-time astronomical data to students around the world to observe and discover Main Belt Asteroids and Near Earth Objects.
STEM & Space had organized the 'International Asteroid Discovery Project' last year where we had 150 participants, 372 preliminary discoveries, and 18 provisional discoveries certified by IASC.
All participants will be awarded a Certificate of Participation or Appreciation for their valuable contributions for observing or discovering the Near Earth Objects and Main Belt Objects, certified by NASA, IASC and Pan-STARRS observatory.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
● Students studying in grades VI to XII can participate.
● A team comprising 2 participants is essential.
Important Dates:
Campaign 1 - April 5 - April 30, 2021
Campaign 2- May 3 - May 28, 2021.
REGISTRATION BEGINS - 16th FEBRARY 2021
LAST DATE OF REGISTRATION - 15th MARCH 2021.
Note: To participate in this prestigious one-month long asteroid discovery project, participant’s need to register by paying a fees of AED 145 (each participant), online, towards the training and one-month administration cost.
