Run For Light 2023

Since inception, Run For Light has always been the ‘beacon of light’ to the visually impaired ones through our long term partnership with Guide Dogs Singapore Ltd (GDS).

The 8th edition of Run For Light has fused ‘Light’ and ‘Heart’ together, thus the theme for 2023 – Your Heart Matters! Through Run For Light event, it is hoped the combination of ‘Light’ and ‘Heart’ will reach out to our community to exercise empathy & compassion to those who are less privileged than us as well as to stay active & healthy for our heart sake.

Supported by SportSG, Run For Light 2023 is scheduled on 18 March, Saturday at Punggol Waterway Park at 1700 hour. In partnership with Jalan Kayu CSN for the first time, the annual run event will engage Punggol and Jalan Kayu residents to participate in the event as part of community engagement.

Race Entitlement

Participants for on-site Blindfold Walk, Fun Run and Competitive Run get the following entitlement:

• Stunning 8th edition finisher medal
• Specially curated RFL event tee
• Compressport multi-sport towel
• Single copy of RUN Singapore’s digital edition
• e-Certificate

Participants for Virtual Run get the following entitlement:

• Stunning 8th edition finisher medal
• Single copy of RUN Singapore’s digital edition
• e-Certificate
• RFL event tee is available for purchase as add-on at S$12 per tee (for virtual run participants).

• For 1KM Blindfold Walk, 5KM Fun Run and 10KM Competitive Run, a fee of S$3 for courier service for individual sign up will be levied and full & valid mailing address must be provided at time of sign up. Race kits will be couriered before the race day. Two persons in the same household can combine in one delivery service at S$3 per delivery.
• For Team Challenge comprising 8 individuals, a fee of S$9 for courier service will be levied which will be delivered to one place based on submitted address at time of sign up.
• For Virtual Run, race kits will be couriered to the registered addresses at S$3 per delivery two weeks after the event. Two persons in the same household can combine in one delivery service at S$3 per delivery.
• 10KM runners must be aged 14 years & above and 1KM walk & 5KM runners must be aged 8 years & above.

• 1630 hrs: Arrival of Participants
• 1700 hrs: Flag-off 1KM blindfold walk
• 1715 hrs: Warm Up led by Instructor
• 1730 hrs: Flag-off 10KM race
• 1815 hrs: Warm Up led by Instructor
• 1830 hrs: Flag-off 5KM race
• 1900 hrs: Cool Down Exercise led by Instructor
• 1930 hrs: Podium Winners Prize Presentation
• 2030 hrs: Event ends
